Northern Marine set to launch its 80' Tri-deck.

ANACORTES, Wash., The craftsmen at Northern Marine are working on the final finishes of a new 80' Tri-deck Expedition Yacht. The Anacortes, Washington yard has targeted a launch date of March 31st.

The 80' Tri-deck is the product of Northern Marine's founder and builder Richard "Bud" LeMieux's vision; his reason for starting Northern Marine a decade ago. What he saw was a need for a rugged, trawler-style vessel with all the toughness and passage making ability of a fishing boat, but outfitted with the luxuries of a mega yacht.

Consequently, our Trawler-style Expedition Yachts are the luxurious descendants of traditional fishing vessels. We've improved upon the rugged and long-range cruising heritage of those ships, by outfitting ours with the latest maritime technology and a reinforced hull built from resin-infused fiberglass.

The 80' Tri-deck is the flagship of Northern Marine's Expedition Yacht series. This vessel offers expanded interior spaces and luxurious appointments for complete onboard enjoyment. Large fuel capacity, extended deck areas and a long list of equipment choices serve virtually any cruising lifestyle, from coastal exploration to transoceanic passages. The 80' Tri-deck's sister ship, the Northern Marine 80' Meander was one of five finalists in the 2005 Super Yacht Society Design Awards 23 -32 Meters category, which puts it in very good company.

Description: Northern Marine 80' Tri-deck

The functional arrangement includes an on-deck owners' suite with two queen-berth staterooms and a two-bunk accommodation on the lower deck, each with en-suite head and shower.

The large, fully equipped galley allows convenient service to the adjacent dining area. The comfortable saloon opens to a covered aft deck, where guests can relax and enjoy the view. Topside, the full-beam boat deck provides room for centerline davit and two tenders, plus an aft-facing settee.

The pilothouse offers a spectacular view for captain and guests, who can enjoy the ride from a large settee that doubles as a second dining area. A day head and pilot berth here provide round-the-clock convenience and comfort.

Thanks to its 21' 6" beam, the Northern Marine 80 allows plenty of space in the engine room for a variety of systems and equipment, including a single main, dual generators and a large workbench. The lazarette is carefully arranged to provide convenient access to batteries, air conditioning, water making and electrical systems, for easy servicing and reliable operation over the long term.
