ANACORTES Wash., In order to better serve potential customers, Northern Marine has restructured its sales group to provide in-depth technical support across both of its growing product lines. The move, following the departure of Dave Mahalko, VP of sales and marketing, will bring two former project managers with extensive build knowledge into the newly formed sales team as well as a factory sales representative based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. “Bringing a depth of product knowledge together with extensive brokerage experience will help potential customers quickly understand the quality and details of our product offering.” said Ken Kurtenbach, president of Northern Marine.
Joining the team from Northern Marine's long range cruiser group is Blair Estenson, sales and warranty manager. Most recently, Estenson managed the builds of the full range of Northern's LRCs, and draws on this experience to answer the wide range of in-depth questions and requests from the owner-operator market. Estenson remarked, “I'm really excited about joining the sales group so I can reach out to all potential owners and share my knowledge of our line of quality boats”.
Making the jump from the motor yacht group to sales manager is Steve McLenachen, who managed the construction of the newly launched Bella Bri, hull #2 of Northern Marine's 151 Tri-Deck series. While managing builds, McLenachen has worked side-by-side with owners through the many individual customizations made during construction. “Working directly with our customers during the build has given me a great understanding of what owners are looking for in a luxury motor yacht” said McLenachen.
Blake Ober, with her many years of experience in the Florida yacht market, will round out the team as Northern Marine's sales manager in Ft. Lauderdale. Having spent time on the brokerage and finance side of yacht sales, Blake understands what it takes to work with customers through the many facets of buying a luxury yacht. “Blake represents Northern Marine's presence in the Florida market, and we are pleased to have her wealth of knowledge and experience on the team.” added Kurtenbach.
