Northern Marine 151' Tri-deck on the move.

ANACORTES, Wash., As the first Northern Marine 151 Tri-deck nears completion, it was recently moved from its main building facility to a new location across town for fairing, paint and final interior work. On the clear sunny morning the "After Eight" could be seen from most of the small town of Anacortes. "It feels good to see our first of the series out in the daylight. Our crew has made great progress in getting her ready for the move." said Ken Kurtenbach, President of Northern Marine. Weighing in at 240 tons, the "After Eight" rolled smoothly over the 10 blocks to the new facility where she'll remain until launch in February, 2007. The second 151 will then move forward into the larger bay for superstructure work. Which in turn, opens room for the yard's third boat of the series to begin infusion of the hull.

The Northern Marine 151 Tri-deck was inspired by the recent 130' Magic and 152' Lia Fail motoryacht projects. Dave Mahalko, VP of Sales and Marketing shared his excitement by saying, "If our success is measured in sales I would say we've accomplished our goal. Having the first two boats sold will keep production of the series under full swing."

Founded in 1995, Northern Marine has launched 25 boats to date, from the 55' "Que Linda" to the 151' "Lia Fail". The yard's leadership in the application of advanced resin infusion processes is a direct result of the yard's mission to build motoryachts to a level of quality that enables them to make ocean passages routinely, safely and to the complete enjoyment of their owners and crews. Originally a builder of displacement expedition yachts, Northern Marine in recent years has expanded its scope to include series-built semi-displacement yachts as well, and regardless of style, speed or propulsion has adhered to the same rigorous standards for structural integrity, fit, finish and performance that define every Northern Marine yacht.
